Job Description
As a Carpenter & Joiner at JH Plumbing U-Fix Ltd, you will be responsible for a variety of carpentry and joinery tasks across residential and commercial properties in London. You will work on both new builds and refurbishment projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship while adhering to building codes and safety regulations. This is a site-based, temporary position with flexible assignments, offering the opportunity to contribute to a range of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and join wood, metal, and other materials according to project specifications.
- Build, install, and repair wooden structures, frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, and furniture.
- Construct and install cabinets, shelves, and other joinery works for residential and commercial clients.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing wooden structures.
- Maintain and operate woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Provide high-quality finish work, ensuring attention to detail in every project.
- Follow safety guidelines and health regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of work completed, including time spent and materials used.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter & Joiner or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with both rough carpentry and fine joinery work.
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring a high standard of finish.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to carry out tasks requiring manual dexterity and lifting.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both residential and commercial carpentry projects.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and proper use of carpentry tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
