Job Description
As an Accounts/Finance Officer, you will be responsible for handling the day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department. You will work closely with management to provide timely financial reports and maintain the integrity of the company’s financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking financial performance against targets.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting principles, and legal requirements.
- Process payroll and ensure all employee-related financial records are accurate.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Support the senior management team with financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
- Assist with audits and help prepare documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts/Finance Officer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filing.
- Knowledge of construction or service industry financial practices is a plus.
- Certification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, AAT) would be advantageous.
